The primary function of the Warehouse Delivery Driver is to drive a straight truck to deliver and unload various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, and dry goods) while providing excellent customer service.
Summary:
- Perform all pre-trip responsibilities, including checking route numbers and account numbers for assigned deliveries, counting items and checking customer invoices of products that have been loaded, perform “pre-trip safety check” inspection of truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) regulations.
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route.
- Perform backhaul pickups as needed.
- Unload products from the trailer with a dolly truck or place them in designated customer storage areas by hand.
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.
- Use provided technology system to communicate with the dispatcher at the base regarding delivery discrepancies or challenges during the delivery process.
- Perform all post-trip responsibilities, including unloading damaged goods and customer returns and completing necessary paperwork; cleaning cab and back of the truck of any garbage; stacking skids and turning in all funds collected daily; performing safety checks on the vehicle, park, and securing a truck and hand truck; complete Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) logs (electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenance reports, discuss any traffic or parking violations encountered during the delivery process and reconcile with appropriate company representative as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must have a satisfactory motor vehicle record
- Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift and move up to 80lbs
- Food or beverage distribution/delivery experience preferred, not required
